Empowering Ourselves in the Lord Ministry Sunday Worship Recap Easter Service | April 5, 2026

Empowering Ourselves in the Lord Ministry came together for a powerful Easter worship service centered on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The service was marked by worship, Scripture, devotion, preaching, communion, and encouragement, as multiple leaders and participants shared in guiding the congregation through this sacred celebration.

Pastor Trevor led the Easter worship service and guided the congregation throughout the service experience. He opened the service in worship and later delivered the main sermon centered on John 19:17–42, focusing on Jesus carrying His cross, the purpose of the crucifixion, and the victory revealed through the resurrection. Pastor Trevor reminded the congregation that the cross was not an accident, but a purposeful act of redemption. He emphasized that while the cross marked the place of suffering, the resurrection declared the victory of the Savior and the hope available to all believers.

During the service, Sister Skyler Booke Collins read Scripture from John 3:17 and 2 Corinthians 1:3–4, reminding the congregation of God’s love, His desire to save the world through Jesus Christ, and His role as the God of all comfort.

Sister Donna Kay Trim shared a devotion on the power of the empty tomb and the meaning of the resurrection. Her message encouraged the congregation to reflect on the importance of Jesus rising from the grave and what that victory means for believers today.

Motivational Speaker Sheila Paul Woods delivered words of encouragement centered on faith, obedience, and perseverance. She also spoke on the resurrection of Jesus and the significance of His blood, explaining how the resurrection is recorded across all four Gospels and highlighting the power of Jesus’s blood as a source of redemption, protection, and access to God. She concluded with a strong reminder for all people to place their trust in Jesus Christ while there is still time.

The service also included participation from several readers and speakers during the Scripture and worship portions. Nick Collins, Secretary, Sheila, Amanda Paul Collins, and Donna Kay each took part in reading and reflecting on passages connected to Jesus’s crucifixion. These readings highlighted key moments such as Jesus carrying the cross, the inscription declaring Him “King of the Jews,” the dividing of His garments, and His final words, “It is finished.” These moments helped the congregation reflect on how Jesus fulfilled prophecy even in His suffering and remained in control until the very end.

Along with the Easter message, the service included worship and reflections on God’s love, gratitude, faith, and the presence of God. Pastor Trevor emphasized the power of God’s love and reminded the congregation that God remains sovereign and in control over all things.

The service concluded with Holy Communion, followed by a blessing over the food, prayers, and words of encouragement for the week ahead. It was a meaningful and Spirit-filled worship experience that reminded all in attendance of the saving power of Jesus Christ, the hope of the resurrection, and the call to remain faithful in every season.
